Truth be told, I could leave now and I’d have gotten what I came for.

FYI, you shouldn’t end a sentence with FOR.   It’s a preposition; so let me rephrase.

Truth be told, I could leave now and I’d have gotten what I came for, asswipe.

The previous statements, aren’t quite right though, are they?

I didn’t fly all the way here to stay in a hotel like this in a room like this on the promise of a pre-release sneak at the final product about which the conference centers.   This is the hottest, most exciting thing I’ve been involved with in forever!   It’s gonna rock and I bet I get a cool name tag.

Got some feedback on my site today.

Hey wait, I’ve got a question.   If you got feedback, then that means you have one person’s opinion about something, right?   And if you get more than one persons opinion that’s still feedback, right?  So if you want to specify the exact number of feedbacks that you got (in this case TWO), what’s the right way to do that?   You can’t say, ‘I got two feedbacks’ — well, I mean sure you CAN say it, and it would get the point across, but somebody would laugh at you, I’m guessing.

If you ever face this dilemma, lemme help you out.   You don’t make feedback plural.   You quantify the origin of the feedback.   So you still got feedback (unknown quantity from 1 to ??) but it was from TWO people (specific number of opinions collected — well, given a 1 : 1 relationship between opinions and numbers, which we’ll assume to be true for the moment even though, obviously, it is possible to gather more than one opinion from one person on any given subject.)

I think you probably see where I’m going with this.   Two people gave me feedback.

The first one said, simply, “I hate your new site.”   (Actually — scratch the quotes.   I don’t remember if he said he didn’t like the site or if he said he hated the site.   Obviously in my mind, I heard hate, but I tend towards extremes, so take that for what it’s worth.)    I was unaware anyone — especially this guy — ever looked at my site.   It’s not like I advertise it or anything, although I guess most people are aware that I DO have a site, I would’ve thought after a year with no new content it wouldn’t be something most people check. . . . anyway — he doesn’t like the way I’ve “skinned” it down.  He went on to say that he doesn’t like that the photos are gone.

I do intend on bringing back photos and maybe even transferring some of the prior content over to here (if I just find myself with NOTHING to do one day) but if you share this man’s opinion, please let me apologize.

The other person who provided feedback, actually did it a month or so ago, but I just found out about it because I’m so bad at blogging, checking blogs, et. al.  Her opinion wasn’t so much about the site or it’s content, but . . .  well, I guess me.   I was honored and I told her so.   You should check out her stuff.   And not because she’s a dear friend or even because she had such great things to say about me… you should read her stuff because it’s good.   Fresh, down to earth, witty, and all around exactly what a good blog should be.

What a Good Blog Should Be… more on that coming up soon….

I watched this movie today.

It was really good.

You should watch it.

[EDITED.   Again, I ruined the ending for anyone who hasn't seen it in the original post, and I've since thought better.]
